What is the current zombie apocalypse probability?
out of 100. Updated .

That is the live global risk score as of this page load. It changes every hour.
The machine does not editorialize. It measures. Check the current reading →
What does a zombie apocalypse score of 30, 50, or 70 mean?
0–24
Baseline
Background noise. The world is merely its usual level of alarming. Go about your day.
25–49
Elevated
Something is being watched. Multiple regions are appearing in the same sentence as "unusual mortality." Keep snacks accessible.
50–74
High Alert
Signals are converging. The model has opinions. Check in with people you care about.
75–100
Critical
Do not panic. Panic impairs motor function. Pack methodically. Leave a note.
How is the zombie apocalypse risk score calculated?
200+ public RSS feeds. WHO situation reports, CDC outbreak notices, ProMED-mail, HealthMap, Reuters Health, epidemiology preprint servers, and curated biosecurity and geopolitical sources.

Each article is scored by: relevance to known threat patterns, source credibility tier, geographic specificity, and recency. Signals are classified against 21 threat scenarios. The global score is a weighted composite across all signals in the current ingestion window.

No human editorial layer. The machine decides. It has been deciding continuously since deployment.
What is the probability of a zombie apocalypse in the next 30 days?
ZAPM does not produce 30-day forward predictions. It produces a present-state assessment updated every hour.

The current score and 7-day trend are the best available indicators of near-term trajectory. The trend is displayed on the dashboard. A score above 50 with an upward trend warrants attention. A score above 75 warrants preparation.

The machine leaves the panic to you.
Which zombie apocalypse scenario is most likely right now?
Current dominant scenario: loading... (confidence: ).

The 21 scenarios the machine tracks:
🦠 Pandemic OutbreakRapidly spreading infectious disease crossing international borders. Public health systems overwhelmed.
⚔️ Geopolitical EscalationArmed conflict, territorial disputes, or great-power confrontation destabilising regional order.
💻 Infrastructure Cyber AttackCoordinated attacks against power grids, water treatment, financial systems, or hospital networks.
🌡️ Climate Cascade FailureClimate tipping points triggering irreversible cascades — permafrost thaw, ice-sheet collapse, ocean circulation failure.
📉 Economic Systemic CollapseCascading financial failure — bank runs, sovereign defaults, currency crises — triggering supply chain breakdown.
☢️ Nuclear IncidentNuclear detonation, reactor meltdown, or dirty bomb. Immediate mass casualties and long-term contamination.
🤖 Rogue AI DeploymentAutonomous AI systems operating outside intended parameters, causing catastrophic unintended harm at scale.
🌾 Famine / Food DisruptionSystematic failure of global food production and distribution networks causing mass starvation.
☀️ Solar / EMP EventExtreme solar storm or electromagnetic pulse disabling electrical grids across continental scales.
☄️ Asteroid / NEO ImpactNear-Earth object impact causing regional to global catastrophe, triggering impact winter.
👁️ Anomalous / Unknown OriginUnexplained phenomena or signals that do not fit established threat categories. The catch-all for what the model doesn't recognise.
🌌 Cosmic ContaminationExtraterrestrial biological agent carried by meteorite or cosmic dust altering terrestrial organisms. Usually 0–3%.
🧬 Laboratory EscapeContainment failure. Enhanced pathogen release. The paperwork would be extraordinary.
🧠 Prion CascadeMisfolded protein propagation. Slow, untreatable, entirely real. Mad cow disease was a preview.
🍄 Fungal BloomCordyceps-adjacent. Neural colonisation via parasitic fungal infection. More plausible than you'd like.
🦠 Viral RecombinationNovel pathogen emergence, spillover events. The classic. Historically the most common leader.
☠️ Toxin WeaponizationEngineered neurotoxin weaponized and released via terrorism, state actor, or industrial accident.
🪱 Parasitic DominanceBehavioral modification via parasitic infection. Toxoplasma at scale.
🔆 Radiation MutationIonizing radiation exposure triggering novel pathologies. Low probability. Checked anyway.
🔥 Neural InflammationMass neuroinflammatory event — autoimmune cascade, environmental toxin — causing behavioral aggression at population scale.
🧪 Synthetic BioagentEngineered organisms created through synthetic biology or AI-designed pathogens, released intentionally or by accident.
Is a zombie apocalypse actually possible?
The machine does not deal in "possible." It deals in probability.

The scenarios tracked — viral recombination, fungal bloom, prion cascade, synthetic bioagent, parasitic dominance — are all grounded in documented biological mechanisms. The "zombie" framing describes a category of threat: a pathogen or agent producing behavioural modification, cognitive disruption, or uncontrolled aggression at population scale.

Toxoplasma gondii already modifies rodent behaviour to induce suicidal risk-taking. Ophiocordyceps fungi control insect motor function with precision. Prion diseases produce neurodegeneration that is slow, irreversible, and currently untreatable. These are not fictional. They are underweighted.

The current global score is . Draw your own conclusions.
Should I be worried about a zombie apocalypse?
That depends on your threshold.

ZAPM provides the score. The emotional response is yours to manage.

For context: a general-purpose emergency kit — water, non-perishables, first aid — is recommended by every major civil emergency authority worldwide regardless of zombie probability. The machine endorses this not because it is pessimistic, but because preparedness is orthogonal to the specific threat model.
What is the difference between ZAPM and a pandemic monitor?
A pandemic monitor tracks confirmed outbreaks — events that have already been declared, named, and reported.

ZAPM is a prediction machine. It tracks weak signals before they become confirmed events. It monitors the conditions under which a zombie-class event becomes probable — the pre-outbreak signal environment, the convergence of indicators across scenarios, the geographic clustering of anomalies.

It is further upstream. Earlier, and therefore less comfortable.
How often is the zombie apocalypse score updated?
Every hour. Feeds are polled continuously. The score displayed on the dashboard reflects the most recent completed ingestion cycle.

The apocalypse does not observe a publishing schedule. Neither does the machine.
What data sources does ZAPM use?
200+ public RSS feeds including:

WHO Disease Outbreak News · CDC Health Alerts · ProMED-mail · HealthMap · Reuters Health · bioRxiv/medRxiv preprints (epidemiology) · biosecurity and geopolitical intelligence aggregators · regional health authority feeds across 15 monitored world regions.

All sources are public. No proprietary data. A dead feed is a blind spot — feed health is monitored continuously and displayed in the dashboard's Feed Health panel.
